The Reading, PA area was hit hard by a blizzard in March 1993 that, at the time, was being compared to the blizzard of 1888. It dumped around 18” of snow on the metro area and dealt a blow, including deaths, to the Reading area. It was a memorable storm, that is, until three years later and *real* storm of the century in 1996, which blasted the region with around 30” of snow. This 4-page excerpt from the “Berks & Beyond” section of The Reading Eagle (pp. C1-2, C21-22) was published on March 14, 1993 and captures a look at the storm and its comparison to past storms of significance to the Reading, PA area. It’s an excellent look back on the storm, in addition to the local business advertisements and more that you’d expect in an over 30-year-old newspaper. This purchase allows you to hold on to a significant piece of Reading’s history for a very reasonable price. Please see the pictures included here for the exact newspaper that you will receive upon purchase. It is in nearly-perfect, off-the-rack condition with sharp corners and edges and no significant creases, rips, markups, or other defects or signs of heavy use or aging. The newspaper has had only one owner through the years and has been stored in a plastic tub in a climate-controlled and smoke-free home. If you have additional questions or need additional pictures, please feel free to ask.
